In Other News…

Happy Sunday! And I hope everyone’s well. Things are fine here—another crazy busy week full of editing, teaching, and writing. It’s nice to be busy, but man am I ever looking forward to Thanksgiving weekend and being a couch potato.

We put the finishing touches on our contact-free trick-or-treat system this week. It’s going to be awesome. If we don’t get any kids, I think I’ll go out and hold out a jack-o-lantern just so my boyfriend can use the funnel-shoot-flip into container thing. Because it’s seriously too cool not to use at least once.

In other news, I’m tossing around the idea of starting a meme. I’ve done this in the past with little success (mostly because my momentum died). So, be honest with me, does the idea of Stuck-in-Your-Head-Saturday sound interesting? The thought is to post a song, movie clip, video, quote, or something else that’s stuck in your head and then link up to my blog so people can go around and discover all the cool things. I’ve also heard sharing helps get things unstuck, so there could be personal benefits too. If I ever decide to get organized about this, there may be a poll of some kind. But let me know your thoughts so I can figure out if it’s worth more of my brainpower.

Oh, and the cool thing this week…I got my Pink Ranger mask! Much as I’m tired of the pandemic and Covid causing so many problems for so many people, it’s allowing me to live in a world where it’s socially acceptable to wear a Power Rangers mask in public. Looking at the positives, I guess.

I read the first one and am finishing the second. This is a great middle-grade series with spies and magic and some plot twists I actually didn’t see coming. I recommend giving these a try.

I read this for review. It was cute, if not quite what I expected. Review coming Nov 2.

In movies, Halloween season continues with the 2019 Adams Family movie, which I feel like you had to be familiar with the Adams Family to completely appreciate. I’m not, but my boyfriend is, which is partly what led me to this conclusion. So, he found the original series on Prime, and I’m getting an education. And honestly, given how Adams Family is right up my alley, I’m not sure how I never watched it. I also got in Scooby Doo, which is one of my faves. I want to watch Casper, but I haven’t been in the right mindset. It’s an emotional roller coaster movie for me (childhood feels). There’s also Hocus Pocus to consider, and someone tell me why It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is going exclusive to Apple TV? What is this world coming to with the putting everything behind pay walls?

Well, that does it for this week. How are things in your corner of the world? Take care, and have a happy, safe Halloween. I have big plans to break out the dark chocolate chips. Til next time!

  2. I’d love to see your contact-free trick-or-treat. We’re just not going to open the door this year. More candy for me, I guess. I hope you have a great week!
